Michael and I decided to spend some quality time with our kiddos yesterday before we went to Indiana this weekend. We took them out to a nice local park and let them enjoy the huge playground.  Isabelle is all about the monkey bars, but she's not quite strong enough (or brave enough) to do them on her own.

Isabelle and I went on a little mommy and daughter outing yesterday.  She was in desperate need of a haircut, so I took her to a local salon that is geared especially to children.







Hence, Isabelle had her hair cut...in a pink Barbie Jeep!  If that wasn't exciting enough, she had her own personal television tuned into a cute kiddie show to keep her entertained.

Isabelle so enjoyed having her Uncle Zach and Aunt Amanda around...and their little dogs.  Oliver, seen here, was her favorite.  As much 'love' as my children showed these doggies, I'm sure the dogs weren't sad to see us go.






Isabelle definitely seems to thrive on having lots of people around and she enjoys every bit of attention people were giving her.

Even though construction at Busi’s house is complete, the
weekly worship service there has continued. After our energetic youth group
friends led the gathering with singing, dancing, and more words of

Something new and exciting is happening at the first house Ten Thousand Homes has ever built in Dwaleni.  On Thursday afternoons at Busi's house, church is happening...literally.  The youth from Mbonisweni are not just joining in but are leading the worship songs.  




There is lots of singing, dancing, and giving praise to the God who is our HOPE.  Even Ethan joined in the celebration!

I enjoy the challenge of trying to decorate my house with a limited budget as it forces me to be creative.

I just finished reading "Boundaries with Kids" (a great read by the way) and the authors reiterate that a child's job is to test and push their boundaries.  At least I know my daughter, who excels at pushing the limit sometimes, is normal.  Phew!! We had it painted before we moved into our house, but the color didn't turn out how we envisioned.  The color swatch showed a nice African clay brownish color, but we ended up with an ugly pink.  Plus, some of the walls were redone after we moved in, so we had ugly pink AND some bare gray plaster. These boys are starving for a good male role model.  I can't imagine how much it meant to them to be affirmed by Michael and to just play rough with him. I played football with some of the children and Isabelle got covered in sand from head to toe playing in the sand pile with the kids.
