Blessings

Michael and I have had the privilege of sharing about Ten Thousand Homes many times with a wide variety of congregations since we moved to South Africa about 5 years ago.  Each time is different because God is constantly moving and doing new things, so there's always a new story to share.  We shared at Dayspring Community Church this morning in the small town of Salley, S.C. and we walked away from our time feeling so encouraged.

Sometimes the biggest blessings come from the smallest and most unexpected interactions.  While I was talking with some people after the service, a little girl came up to me and placed 2 quarters in my hand to help us reach our goal of purchasing University Village.  I closed my hands tightly around her offering and could just imagine Jesus smiling down on this little girl's heart to give.  My heart was definitely touched by this child.

As we were packing up the car after the service, Michael walked out with Caleb, a boy of about 10 years.  I thought Caleb might have been giving Michael a hand with the stuff he was carrying, but he came out and boldly asked if he could pray for us.  So Michael, Caleb and I stood in front of the church, joined in hands and faith, and Caleb prayed God's blessing, provision, and protection over our family as we care for the orphaned in Africa.  I had to fight back tears at the faith and courage of this young man in stepping out to pray for us. Moments like these are such precious blessings from the Lord.
